Britsh Computer Sociey Presentation, True Cost of Latency
Push Technology Ltd. and GemStone System Inc. gave a joint presentation to members of the British Computer Society Financial Services Specialist Group on July 17th 2009.
Synopsis
For any business heavily reliant on technology to drive its competitive advantages, latency is a core challenge. In this session, Mike Stolz (GemStone) and Christian James (Push Technology) reviewed this topic in the context of the financial services industry.
Mike and Christian looked in detail at what does latency truly mean, what causes latency and finally the costs, benefits and penalties associated with the different methods of addressing this conundrum.
