Andy Piper to Present at QCon London on Reliable Communication

17 Feb 14

Andy Piper, Chief Technology Officer at Push Technology, will present “Principles of Reliable Communication and Shared State – What can go Wrong and Why you Should Care?” at QCon in London on Wednesday 5th of March 2014.

Qcon empowers software development by facilitating the spread of knowledge and innovation in the developer community. A practitioner-driven conference, QCon is designed for technical team leads, architects, engineering directors, and project managers who influence innovation in their teams. The conference highlights the most important development topics driving innovation – things you should be doing now or researching for your next project – presented by the doers in our community.

In this session, Andy will describe some fundamentals of communicating reliably in an unreliable world. He will show how we can use such communication techniques to build distributed data structures that can tolerate failures. Finally, he will look at what kind of failures can be mitigated or even ignored.
